The Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ingolstadt occupies a building that was once part of the Ingolstadt State Fortress, a Bavarian army fortress, which was in use until 1937. The neo-classical building dates from the renovation of the fortress in the mid-19th century and has been leased by the Bavarian State to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church since 1945.
St. Matthew's Church was built in 1845 and is the first Protestant parish church in Ingolstadt. It was built in the neo-Gothic brick style, but a recent renovation has given the church a modern interior. However, the French Baroque organ which embellishes the interior has not been touched.
The Church of St. Mauritius was founded in the 9th century, as its oldest part attests. However, most of the present building dates from the 13th century, which still makes it the oldest building in the town. The church is a Gothic three-nave basilica with Romanesque elements.
The Kocatepe Mosque, which opened in 2008, is the largest mosque in Bavaria. In the classic Ottoman dome-shaped style, the building has two 27.5-metre high minarets. The mosque also houses a cultural centre.
