Berg wooden church was built in 1878 to replace the old stone church of Berg, too small and in poor condition. It was designed by Johannes Henrik Nissen and erected by the builder Mathias Olsen from 1875 to 1878. The altarpiece dates from 1580 and was taken over from the stone church.
The stone church of Berg was built in the 12th century and dedicated to Saint Lawrence. After a new church was built on the site in 1878, the old medieval church was partially demolished in 1882. However, the remains of the walls were preserved in the early 1900s, and from 1965 to 1970 the church was rebuilt, partly with the original stone, according to drawings by the architect Finn Bryn.
Berg working church is a brick church that built in 2007. Berg wooden church was in great need of refurbishment in the 1970s, but not everything was completed. Instead, work was underway to build a new working church. The working church has largely taken over as the worship church after the wooden church.
The church of Tanum was first built in 1100 and is a relatively large medieval stone church, decorated on the outside and inside, with visible quarry stone corners. The church has a rectangular vessel and a narrower, approximately square choir with an apse, a semicircular extension with a half-domed vaulted ceiling. In 1910-11, the church was restored and partially restored according to the plans of the architect Haldor Larsen Børve.
