Giralda is the name given to the bell tower of the Cathedral of Santa María de la Sede in the city of Seville. The lower two-thirds of the bell tower corresponds to the minaret of the city's old mosque, dating from the late twelfth century to the Almohad period (1121-1269), while the upper third is a construction superimposed on the Christian period to house the bells. In 1987, the bell tower was added to the World Heritage List along with the cathedral.
The Cathedral of Santa Maria de la Sede, one of the largest churches in the world, was declared a UNESCO site in 1987. Its Gothic building was built from 1401 on a mosque whose minaret and patio are still visible.
The Collegiate Church of the Divine Savior is the largest church in Seville after its cathedral. The current building was built between 1674 and 1712 on the site of an old mosque.
The church of Santa María la Blanca was built in the seventeenth century and is used by the Brotherhood of the Rosary of Our Lady of the Snows.
