The chapel at the historic manor of Compton Verney was built in the 18th century in a Palladian style, very close to Capability Brown's house.
The Palladian style chapel was built in 1776-9. It sits in a nationally acclaimed landscape, created when the 14th Baron Willoughby de Broke commissioned Brown to redesign the estate. He transformed the formal gardens into a ‘natural’ landscape and built bridges, a greenhouse, ice house and chapel.
St Peter ad Vincula Church in Ratley (Banbury) is known for its medieval architecture, particularly its medieval preaching cross and the four different window styles.
The Collegiate Church of the Holy and Undivided Trinity is better known as the Holy Trinity Church or as Shakespeare’s Church. It is the place of William Shakespeare’s baptism, marriage and burial.
The current church building dates from 1210 and is therefore the oldest building in Stratford-upon-Avon. In the 14th century, a chantry was founded by John de Stratford. This had to be rebuilt between 1465 and 1491. Some believe that the church originally had a wooden spire, which was replaced in 1763.
As one of England's largest parish churches, All Saints rivals many cathedrals in size. With its stunning gothic style architecture, the eminent art historian Sir Nikolaus Pevsner described it as 'a church as out of the ordinary for scale as for style'.
