Solum Church

The church of Solum is a wooden church from 1766, dedicated to John the Baptist, first mentioned in 1349 and again in 1370. In 1765 the old church was demolished and a new one was built. The tower was demolished in the 1830s, after which the church changed its style several times before returning to its original form in 1959.

Gimsøy Church

Gimsøy Church is a long church completed in 1922 by architect Gunnar Norby. The church had an altarpiece painted by Finn Krafft, but in 1972 it was replaced by a stained glass window in the choir apse window.

Skien Church

The Skien Church of 1894 is a neo-gothic church that replaced a church from 1783 that was lost in a town fire. Skien Church is one of the most monumental churches in the country. It was built according to the plans of the architect Hagbarth Schytte-Berg. It has two large west towers and three portals in the main facade. The ground floor is Latin cross-shaped and the church is clad with dark brown bricks glazed with red as a marking of arches and facade bands.

Skotfoss Church

Skotfoss Church is a long church dating from 1900. The church has changed colour several times. In the beginning, it was yellow ochre. Then it was painted white in 1924, and in 1987 it was changed to an older white colour.
