Forsnes Chapel

The Forsnes chapel was built in 1763 on the Hakkbuan islet where it stood until it was moved to Forsnes in 1935. This chapel was built on top of an older (16th century) chapel on Hakkbuan.

Kvenvær Church

The Kvenvær church was consecrated in 1909. The architect was Nils Ryjord. The church replaced the old Kvenvær church from the mid 15th century, which was demolished in 1934, moved and rebuilt as the Forsnes chapel.

Stemshaug Church

Stemshaug Church was consecrated on December 9, 1908. It is a long church built in the Stave church style. The dragon heads are a decorative element that was frequently used both inside and outside. They can be seen, among other things, on the roof as an extension of the roof and on the furniture inside the church. The architect who prepared the drawings was Hans Jacob Sparre.

Aure Church

The church of Aure is a cruciform church built in 1924 on a site where churches have been built since the 10th century. The old Stave church in Stave church, which dates back to the Middle Ages, was demolished in 1726. The next church was a wooden cross church which was consecrated in 1727. On 21 January 1923, the church burnt down after a thunderbolt. The architect of the new church was Nils Ryjord, who had been associated with Nidaros Cathedral.
