The Rein Church is a cruciform church from 1932. After the demolition of the Rein church and the construction of the Rissa church, the old Rein church was greatly missed. The author Johan Bojer took the initiative and provided funds to set up a new church as similar as possible to the old one. He also set aside a fund so that the church building could be maintained. The church is also called "Bojerkjerka" in common parlance.
The Rissa church is a "long church" from 1888. The architect of the church was Carl Julius Bergstrøm. The church was built after the demolition of the old church on Rein. Parts of this old church were used during construction.
Austråt Castle Chapel was built in brick around 1200. Mrs Ingerd Ottesdatter (1475-1555) was one of the most prominent and atypical owners of Austratt. She played an important role in Norwegian history, especially in connection with the introduction of the Reformation. The main building was constructed in her time. The eastern part, the chapel and the tower, date from 1150-1220 and are therefore much older.
