Eidanger Church

The church of Eidanger is a long medieval church made of brick and wood, with a bell tower to the west. The top of the tower is pyramid-shaped and crowned with a dome. Above the nave, there is a gable roof. The original church, which was built between 1150 and 1250, was extended by a wooden section to the west in 1787. At the same time, the choir was shortened, so that the semicircular end, the apse, was lost.

Østre Porsgrunn kirke

The Østre Porsgrunn Church was designed in 2015 by professor-architect Espen Surnevik as chief architect, and Trodahl architects as collaborating architect. The building is often referred to as the "porcelain church", as it was to be clad on the outside with porcelain-like tiles. The new church building was completed in autumn 2019 and was consecrated on 15 September 2019. The modernist church replaces a 1760 church, designed by Laurids de Thurah, which was burnt down to the ground on the night of 11 April 2011.
