Skare kirke

The church in Skare is a long church from 1926. The building was built according to designs by Olaf Nordhagen. Before the church in Skare, the parishioners had to travel to the church in Odda, and in the old days, a trip to the church could take three days for those who lived farthest from the church in Odda.

Røldal Stave Church

Røldal Stave Church is a 13th century church. In the 17th century, the church walls were richly decorated with paintings. During the renovation of 1844, the nave was extended to the west and expanded with a new ceiling. In 1913-1918, the church underwent a major reconstruction. The church is famous for hosting a 13th century crucifix suspended above the choir opening.
