Stamnes kyrkje

The church in Stamnes is a long church from 1861, designed by Peter Høier Holtermann. Stamnes has had a church since the Middle Ages. The oldest church in Stamnes mentioned in the sources is from 1328. The medieval church was probably a stave church and was replaced by a wooden church in the early 17th century. The wooden church remained standing until it became too small and was replaced by the new church in 1861.
