The chapel was built in 1835, and in 1990 it was thoroughly renovated by the faithful of Ruda and Samobor. Immediately after the Second World War, a statue of St. Nicholas, the chapel was neglected, but still no one dared to demolish it. During the renovation, a new statue was made in the Pleterje Carthusian Monastery in Slovenia.
Parish of St. Anastazije is one of the oldest parishes in the Zagreb Archdiocese. The exact date of its foundation is unknown. The first written mention dates from 1334, when Archdeacon Ivan compiled the first list of parishes of the then Zagreb diocese. But some events testify that the parish existed long before.
As a province with such geographical boundaries it has existed since 1900 and the first provincial was appointed by Rome Fr. Vendelin Vosnjak, now a servant of God and hopefully soon a candidate for beatification. In the year of the great Christian jubilee we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the existence of our province.
The cornerstone of the parish church was blessed on November 22, 1992 by the then Auxiliary Bishop of Zagreb, Msgr. Marko Culej. The crypt of the parish church was completed in 1994, and the walls were erected in 1997 and 1998. The church was designed by the architect Mirko Beran, and it was built with the gifts of the faithful of the parish of St. Anastasia and the great help of the Archbishop's spiritual table and generous benefactors.
