Finsbury Park Mosque
The Finsbury Park Mosque or North London Central Mosque is an Islamic place of worship in the London Borough of Islington.
About this building
The mosque is a five-storey building with a minaret. It is located very close to the Emirates Football Stadium.
It serves the Muslim community in North London, mainly from North Africa, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Somalia. During the 1990s raised controversy about the radicalisation of the Muslim community, especially following the arrival of Abu Hamza al-Masri, a radical imam of Egyptian origin, in 1998.
