Fillan Church

The church of Fillan dates from 1789. The church is the oldest existing church on Hitra and replaced the smaller church of Our Saviour built in 1686. Some objects from the Church of Our Saviour have been preserved, notably the pulpit from 1689 and the altarpiece from 1691. The old altarpiece represents a vision of Christ bleeding that King Christian IV is said to have had in 1625.

Storfosna Church

The Storfosna church is a long church from 1913, designed by the architect Johan Kunig. The furniture of the church is offered as a gift by many different people, families and associations.

Sandstad Church

Sandstad Church was consecrated on 11 July 1888. The drawings used for the construction of the church are the same as those used for the construction of Hallaren Church on Frøya seven years earlier, made by the architect Henrik Nissen. In 1954-55 a major restoration was carried out.
