Skjønne Church

The church in Skjønne was designed by Henrik Nissen and built in 1879-80 by the builder Gulbrand Johnsen, who also built the neighbouring church Nore (designed by Jacob Wilhelm Nordan) at the same time. Both churches were inaugurated on the same day, 5 October 1880.

Uvdal Stave Church

Uvdal Stave Church is probably from the end of the 12th century. In 1893, the congregation built a new church, and five years later, the Fortidsminneforeningen took over the old stave church. The church, which is cruciform with wide transverse arms to the north and south, has undergone several changes and additions, including the choir, has been expanded. The south portal is probably original, while the west portal may be from the 13th century.
