Hov Church

The Hov church is a neo-gothic building completed in 1887. The previous church on the site was knocked down in 1885 by a strong gust of wind, and the new church of 1887, including its tower, was built relatively low due to the particular wind conditions in Sunndalsøra.

Eresfjord Church

The Church of Sira, also known as the Eresfjord Church, is an octagonal church dating from 1869 and built of wood. Until about 1709, a stave church probably stood here, but because of its very poor condition, it was replaced by a new wooden church in the shape of a cross. Throughout the 19th century, this church was too small and in need of repair. In 1868-1869 the octagonal church was erected in its place.
