Old Stordal Church
The old Stordal church, also called "Rosekyrkja", was completed in 1789. The old Stave church, which may have been there since the 1300s, was destroyed for the construction of the new church. Pastor Ebbe Carsten Tønder designed the new church. The walls of the church are completely covered with paint, and it was after this rose painting that the church was named. The church has been owned by the Society for the Preservation of Old Norwegian Monuments since 1908.
