Prijepolje Cathedral

This monastery was founded in the 13th century by King Stefan Vladislav I. It is famous for one of its frescoes which is known as one of the most important pieces of Serbian art from this time period, the "White Angel".

Mažići Monastery was founded in the 12th century. The monastery complex was demolished and rebuilt several times, but it was definitively abandoned at the beginning of the 18th century. At the beginning of the 21st century, the monastery church was renovated, while the renovation of the entire complex is still in progress. During archaeological excavations of the complex, prehistoric burial mounds from the Bronze Age, Roman tombs and a necropolis (from the 9th and 10th centuries) around it were discovered.

Janja Monastery was probably built in the middle or end of the 15th century and was destroyed at the end of the 17th century. After 400 years, Janja Monastery was restored to its original appearance on 22 July 2012, the date of its consecration. The iconostasis and chandelier were painted by the icon and fresco painter M. Ivan Kovalčik Mileševac from Novi Sad.
