In 1932, the architect Albert Wiersema from Bedum was commissioned to build a new church for the Reformed congregation. From 1914 onwards the building has become too small for the rapidly growing municipality.
This 13th century ocher-colored church stands on the edge of a mound. The church is dedicated to St. Georgios or St. Joris.
Interesting modern church without a tower.
