The cemetery was founded after World War II and includes some graves which were transferred from the old cemetery. It is still in use.

The Church of St. Dmitry (Biserica Sfântul Dumitru) is an Orthodox church built between 1890 and 1899. The church was closed and looted under the Soviet regime. The church was reopened in 1990. In 2005, a fire caused severe damage to the interior of the nave and the bell tower. The church was restored in 2016.
