Saint Panteleimon Monastery in Odesa

Saint Panteleimon Monastery is an Orthodox monastery built in Odesa in 1895.

About this building

The monastery displays a mixture of Byzantine and Muscovite Baroque styles. It is crowned by a central dome surrounded by four smaller oriental domes. Its interior preserves some mural paintings and a rich iconostasis.It also houses the relics of Saint Panteleimon, the healer.

Al-Salam Mosque

The Arab Cultural Centre in Odessa, which includes the Al Salam Mosque, was inaugurated in June 2001. It was built at the expense of Syrian businessman Kivan Adnan. The design of the building was developed by the Odessa Architecture and Restoration Bureau Archproekt-MDM.

Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral belongs to the Catholic Church. The cathedral was built between 1844 and 1853. It was Father Grzegorz Razutowicz who took the initiative to build this cathedral. The design was made by the Polish architect Feliks Gąsiorowski, with the help of Italian architect Francesco Morandi. The building is a three-aisled basilica with a dome selected cruise on a cruciform plan. White and gray marble were used inside. The painting on the main altar is an image of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which is a copy of Raphael.
