Burfjord Church is a long church that was built as a prayer house for Laestadian Lutherans and converted into a church with a dedication on 5 July 2009. Laestadianism is a pietistic Lutheran revival movement that originated in northern Scandinavia in the mid-19th century.

Skorpa Church is one of the few buildings in Kvænangen that was not burnt down by the Germans during the forced evacuation of Finnmark and North-Troms during World War II.
