St. John Vladimir Monastery

The monastery of St. John Vladimir, built at the end of the 14th century, is an important monument in medieval Albania, and one of the largest sacred complexes in the country. The monastery was almost completely destroyed by fire in 1944, but the walls painted in the 18th century were spared.

Ballies Mosque

A shrine style like that of the Naziresha Mosque in the same town, it is the typical Albanian Islamic achitecture. The style consists a prayer hall, the portico at the front of the entrance and the minaret to the right and a raised hemispherical dome with an octagonal polygonal drum.
