Stenkumla Church

Stenkumla Church is one of the 92 medieval churches on the island of Gotland.

About this building

The nave has several murals by the so-called Passion Master, an anonymous painter to whom mural works have also been attributed in other churches of the island.

One of its most important items is the rood cross, made towards the end of the 12th century. It also houses an altarpiece and a pulpit from the 17th century and a baptismal font from the 18th century.

Two Christian runestones from the 11th century have been found in the ring chamber under the tower.
