Träkumla Church
Träkumla Church is one of the 92 medieval churches on the island of Gotland.
About this building
The church was built in the 13th century. The walls of the western part of the nave indicate that there was a project to build a tower, though it was never erected.Instead of a tower, the present church has a wooden spire built in 1917.
The interior has 15th century mural paintings by the Master of the Passion. Among the preserved medieval elements are a 12th century baptismal font, a 14th century altarpiece and a 15th century rod cross. Some stained glass windows are also medieval, from the 13th century.
