Today, part of the old quarters can be visited as a museum run by the Barcelona City Council, and the current community occupies new premises next to the old monastery.
The expiatory temple of the Sagrada Familia is a Catholic basilica. It is a distinctive church for its modernist architecture, the work of Gaudi (1852-1926). The church, whose construction began in 1882, has not been completed.
Santa Anna de Barcelona is a church and an ancient monastery. As a monastery it belonged to the Order of the Holy Sepulchre. The Romanesque church was declared a national monument in 1881 and has been declared a Cultural Heritage of National Interest.
