Vanse kirke
The church of Vanse, which is a medieval stone church dating from 1037. Only the western part of the nave dates from the Middle Ages. In 1848-49 the chancel and east wall were demolished and replaced by a large cruciform extension, and the old church furniture was removed and sold at auction. In 1872, the church burned down due to lightning. It was then rebuilt with new deep galleries in the cross arms, a new roof and tower, and with new wooden gables.
