Church of Peace, Bad Ischl

The Protestant parish church of Bad Ischl (Evangelische Pfarrgemeinde A.B. Bad Ischl) also known as the Church of Peace (Friedenskirche) has served the protestant community of this little spa town since the late 19th century.

About this building

From the 1700s until 1875, a granary stood on the site of the church. In 1875 the land was bought by Austrian and German noblemen who demolished the granary, and in 1881 the Protestant church was built. It was not until 1902, that the Friedenskirche became an independent parish for the Protestant community of Bad-Ischl.
