Church of the Risen Saviour

The Church of the Risen Saviour is an early 20th-century church in Veszprém built to be the burial place of Bishop Károly Hornig, although it also functioned as a local parish in this area of Veszprem.

About this building

It was built between 1903 and 1907 on the commission of Bishop Károly Hornig to be used as a burial place for him and his family. The interior of the church was decorated by local masters of Veszprém. It also functioned as the chapel of the hospital operating nearby.

The church was damaged during the Second World War and in 1956. In the following decades, the roof covering and stained glass windows were replaced. The façade was also restored in 2019.
