Church of Saint-Laurent, Rozoy-sur-Serre

Former collegiate church whose choir dates from the end of the 13th century, the transept from the 14th century and the walls of the nave from the 17th century. It is one of the fortified churches of Thiérache.

About this building

The Collegiate Church is in the shape of a Latin cross and has two distinct architectural styles: a façade with three portals with bundles of small columns surmounted by as many superimposed arches, the pillars of its side doors, the window of the south transept, the apse rounded in a half-hexagon, the polygonal choir and the sanctuary with their ogives and high columns with various capitals, the baptismal font, the apse chapels, a marble altar and a gilded wooden baldachin.
