Former collegiate church whose choir dates from the end of the 13th century, the transept from the 14th century and the walls of the nave from the 17th century. It is one of the fortified churches of Thiérache.
Église Saint-Martin is located in Archon, a small village with 82 inhabitants about 10 km north-east of Montcornet in the Département Aisne in the région Hauts-de-France.
During the 16th and 17th centuries, the church, defended by a keep and two imposing towers, was the refuge of the villagers, harassed and pillaged by passing regiments.
