In January 2012, the centenary of this church building was festively celebrated. An anniversary book was also published on this occasion.

Bergambacht, NL
Around 1450, Ovezande became an independent parish. The church still exists: it is the current Protestant church. A few wall paintings from the original interior have been preserved. The old church was dedicated to the holy apostles Peter and Paul. There was also a separate altar in honour of the Virgin Mary. The church was owned by the chapter of St. Peter in Utrecht. The counts of Zeeland (and Holland) from the Burgundian and later Austrian House had the right to appoint the pastor, who also had to pay for it himself. The pastors rarely visited their parish. It was an honorary position for them, and they outsourced the actual pastoral care to a local priest who was in their service.
