Reformed Church. Single-nave building, 15th? with built-in late Romanesque tower. Against the east wall an extension with burial vault of the Du Peyrou family; alliance coat of arms in the facade, 18th. Baptismal fence 17th, copper baptismal arch 1729. Pew, 18th, Epitaph, 1785. There used to be a church building here . There was already a small church in the 11th century. The church building from the 15th and 16th centuries, which was known for its leaning tower, was only partly used by the Reformed community. At that time, there were still remains of old frescoes in the building. On April 23, 1945, the church was destroyed by the Germans.

Church with roof turret, in neo-Gothic style. It was extended in 1881. It has a mechanical tower clock made by Van Bergen in 1881.

Dutch Reformed Church. Built in 1639-1641 with the support of Prince Frederik, restored in 1859, completely burned down in 1910 and modified during reconstruction, restored in 1951 after war damage. In plan a Greek cross with short arms, which, in elevation, connect with lean-to roofs against the higher square central section. Open dome on the pyramidal roof from 1912. Buttresses with inward-turning exterior, windows with pointed arches. Oak pulpit in Louis XV style, from around 1760, originating from the church of Zevenbergse Hoek. Mechanical tower clock, firm De Klok, 1956.

In 1575, the previous church was largely destroyed by fire. The nave of this church was rebuilt in its original state. The ruins of the choir were never restored. The church was severely damaged by salt water during the flood disaster of 1953. After the disaster, the church was thoroughly restored. The tower was straightened. On 17 July 1958, a new organ was put into use. Because the salt water had penetrated deep into the walls, the plaster layer of the walls regularly came loose. The inside of the walls was thoroughly restored in 1997. A new layer of plaster was applied, which means that the problem of the walls coming loose will probably be a thing of the past. The church is called Sint-Alardskerk.

Small expressionist church with tower. Built to replace the previous Reformed Church that burned down in 1923. Together with the historic church in Stompetoren, this church building is used for services by the Protestant Community of Schermer.

In 1659, construction of this church began. The Middelburg stained glass artist Cornelis Van Barlaar made three windows that were placed in the east facade (1660-1661). The oak wall paneling next to the pulpit (priest's chancel) is from the previous medieval church, as is the separation between the chairs and the garden. The copper chandelier is a gift from the local preacher Lucas Schortinghuis, late 18th century. During the liberation in 1944, the tower was destroyed. Reconstruction in a modified form took place in 1947.

In 1930, the Dutch Reformed Church of Hulst took the current hall church with saddle roof tower on the Houtmarkt into use. The pulpit, pew, choir screens and chandeliers were moved from the current Roman Catholic Basilica of St. Willibrordus, which is diagonally opposite the Reformed Church. Before 1930, the Dutch Reformed Church held church services in the Basilica at the same time as the Roman Catholic Church. At the time, a wall was built into it, which separated the two denominations. They also both had their own bell. After the Reformed Church took their current church into use in 1930, the basilica was returned in its entirety to the Roman Catholic Church.
