Interesting modern church with tower. Built to replace an earlier Reformed church building. Already merged with the local Reformed Church in 2005. Last service in this building: November 1, 2020. Demolition in March 2022.

On February 25, 1960, the first pile was driven for the Reformed Church of the Resurrection on Lisplein. A design by MCA Meischke, who also designed the Reformed Church at the Technikon, the Scottish Church, the Mormon Church on Jacques Perkstraat and a -now demolished- Reformed Church in Hoogvliet. The building has recently been partly used as a meeting place for residents of the Liskwartier: the Torentuin. With a café, shared office space and the occasional performance.

High, flat-roofed hall church, partly with indirect light. Service rooms added on to one side. Built in 1960 to a design by the architectural firm Nielsen, Spruit and Van der Kuilen. On the gallery an organ with two manuals and free pedal, built in 1966 by Bakker & Timmenga (Leeuwarden).

Nice modern church with a defining tower, and among other things a beautiful colorful window. Built as a Reformed church. Out of use as a Reformed or PKN church in 2006, sold to the Christian Reformed Church. After a renovation in 2007, it was put into use by the Christian Reformed Church Leiden, which then left its Resurrection Church on the Steenschuur in the center of Leiden. Since then, the Liberation Church has been called "Resurrection Church".

The church is located at the (western part of the) Bos en Lommerplein 325. It was already nicknamed Kolenkit during construction because of the resemblance of the 48-meter high bell tower to a coal scuttle . The name became so enduring that the surrounding neighborhood was named after that nickname: Kolenkitbuurt .
