The church with the ekklesionym Agios Nikolaos was built in 1876, and is located on the northern edge of the old village centre at the access road from Karavas. The bell is still in the bell tower (which obviously was added on the southwestern edge of the roof at a later stage) and the cross on top is intact. The building itself is in a good condition.

The church of the village is part of the monastic complex of Agios Panteleimonas. The monastery was founded at the beginning of the 18th century and became seat of the Bishop of Kyrenia (until 1917). According to Ioannis G. Kassinis the present church was built in the 18th century on the site of a smaller church. The area is fenced and locked.
