The Balingen Cemetery Church was built in the 11th century and was originally the parish church of the village. In the 14th century, the church was demolished and the church that still exists today was built. Parts of the previous Romanesque building have been preserved in the tower and the nave. In 1912 the cemetery church was renovated. It revealed frescoes that the Brotherhood of San Sebastian had painted in the choir of the church.

The Balke church is a high medieval stone church with a rectangular nave and a relatively short chancel with a semicircular end. In 1714 the old porch was demolished and the church was extended to the west. Originally, the nave had two narrow windows to the south, while the present windows appeared in 1822. Only the arched windows in the apse have their original shape.

The Cathedral of the Annunciation or simply Ballaghaderreen Cathedral was built in the neo-Gothic style from 1855 to 1860. The bell tower with a spire and a carillon of bells was added in 1912 by the project architect, William H. Byrne.

Ballangen Church was consecrated in 1923 after a royal decree authorised the consecration of a church building on the site for use by settlers on the south side of Ofotfjorden. The church was restored in 1998 and then returned to its original style.

The Balsfjord church in is a long church dating from 1856. The church was designed by Christian H. Grosch and was built in 1864-1856 and inaugurated on 19 October 1856. The church is a long, white-painted church in neo-gothic style with a tower placed axially to the west. The tower helps to give the church its distinctive character.

Bamberg Cathedral was founded in 1004 by Emperor Henry II, completed in 1012 and consecrated on 6 May 1012. It was partially destroyed by fire in 1081. The new cathedral, built by Bishop Otto of Bamberg, was consecrated in 1111 and was given its present late Romanesque form in the 13th century. Among the cathedral's many works is a marble tomb, carved between 1499 and 1513, where its founder, Henry II, and his wife, Empress St. Cunigunde, rest. Another of the cathedral's treasures is the equestrian statue known as the Bamberg Horseman. The cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
