Founded by Richard the Lionheart in 1189. It was damaged during the Hundred Years War.

The 13th-century Dominican Church in Maastricht, now Boekhandel Dominicanen, showcases magnificent Gothic architecture, including ceiling and wall paintings. It served as a monastery before becoming a bookstore in 2006.

The Saint-André de Bordeaux cathedral was consecrated in 1096 by Pope Urban II. It was rebuilt in Gothic style from the 12th to the 16th century. In this church were celebrated some royal marriages, in 1137, the marriage of Eleanor of Aquitaine with the future Louis VII, king of the Franks and in November 1615 the marriage of Anne of Austria and Louis XIII, King of France and Navarre.

Bore Church is a long church built in 1891. The church was designed by the architect Hartvig Sverdrup Eckhoff from Stavanger, who designed several churches in Rogaland. The 17th-century altarpiece was carved by Lauritz Snekker and decorated by Gottfried Hendtzschel who was a central artist in Rogaland during the Stavanger Renaissance.

The Borge church dates from 1861. The first church built on the site was dedicated to Olav the Saint and was probably founded on a pre-Christian sacred space. In 1946-50 the present church was restored according to the plans of Dagfinn Morseth and Mads Wiel Gedde. The original tower was demolished and the church was given a new tower.

Borge church is a brick church that was built in 1986. The church is fan-shaped and was designed by architect Knut Gjernes.

Borgestad church is a stone church from 1907. The church was given by Prime Minister Gunnar Knudsen at the request of his 16-year-old terminally ill daughter: Gudrun ("Gudde") Knudsen (1886-1902) who is buried in Borgestad cemetery. The church has stained glass windows by Emanuel Vigeland.

Borglum Abbey became a significant religious site in the northern region of Jutland between the 13th and 16th centuries. It operated as the seat of the bishopric until the Reformation when it was sold to private owners and transformed into a manor house.

The church in Borg was built between 1801 and 1803 to replace an earlier medieval church. On 20 April 1729, a violent fire destroyed Borg Church. The church was rebuilt shortly afterwards under the direction of master builder Anders Nilsson and master mason Samuel Berg, but as early as the 1770s, plans were drawn up for an extension as the church was becoming cramped for the population. In 1801, the construction of the church began with Caspar Seurling as the master builder. The medieval churches of Borgs and Löts were demolished in 1802 and 1803 respectively.
