The Ingedal church is a small medieval stone church. Originally, the choir was narrower and lower than the nave, but it was later enlarged across its entire width, probably around 1730. The present porch probably dates from the end of the 19th century. The interior of the church is characterised by restorations and alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries, and of the medieval furnishings, only one church bell is preserved.

The Ingøy church, like the other churches in Måsøy, was burned by the Germans during the evacuation of Finnmark in 1944. The new church, which was completed in 1957, is a simple long concrete church, built according to the plans of architect Eyvind Moestue. Behind the choir is a narrower extension with a sacristy. The porch and the tower above the entrance are built of wood.

According to Markus Hiekkanen, the first phase dates from the 1430s at the earliest, the second phase perhaps from the second half of the 15th century, and the last phase probably from the 1510s. The bell tower was built next to the church in 1739-1740. The church contains the only surviving mural painting of "Dancing Macabre" in Finland.
