Klagenfurt Cathedral was built in 1581 as a Protestant prayer house, making it the largest Protestant church built in Austria. Closed in 1600 during the Counter-Reformation, it was handed over four years later to the Jesuits who occupied it until the dissolution of the order in 1773. In 1787, the church was elevated to the rank of a cathedral.

The Sint-Janskerk is a small parish church in the centre of Hoensbroek , municipality of Heerlen . It is located in a small park between the Juliana-Bernhardlaan (formerly Heerbaan), the Hoofdstraat (until 1921 called Dorpsstraat) and the Markt. To distinguish them from the large Johannes Evangelistkerk on the other side , both churches are called respectively the small and the large Sint-Jan.

An architecturally simple hall church in light-expressionist forms under a large wooden canopy. In the side walls (right 3, left 2) are 5 stained glass windows from the construction period, depicting Christ and the four evangelists. These were designed by stained glass artist Huib de Ru (1902-1980) from Haarlem and made in the studio 'de Vonk'. The stained glass wall lamps were probably made by the same studio.
