Heiligkreuz Church

The Heiligkreuz church was built in 1804 and restored in 1976. The tower stands at the head of the choir and has flat arched windows and an octagonal transition to the onion dome. The gabled façade has a scrolled gable above a continuous main cornice. The three-bay nave is followed by a slightly indented basket-arched choir. Ludwig Sturm painted the vault in 1936.

Chiesa di San Nicolò

The Church of St. Nicholas or Cathedral of Merano dates back to the 13th century. In 1367 a new choir was consecrated, rebuilt in Gothic style. The hall was rebuilt with a nave and two aisles and rotated in relation to the axis of the choir. The roof was built in 1450-1460 by Stefan Tobler from Burghausen, who built the Gothic cross vaults supported by round pillars. The 83-metre high bell tower is one of the most impressive in South Tyrol. Its construction took almost three centuries and was carried out in several stages: the three lowest floors were built between the 15th and 16th centuries. In 1617, the "Italian dome" was built.

Church of Graun

From the church of Graun, built in 1355, only the Romanesque tower remains. The village was sunk in 1950 to create a reservoir. The tower, now a historical monument, is called "Kirchturm im Reschensee" in German, and "Campanile nel Lago di Resia" in Italian.
