Regarded as the oldest monument of the town, the hermitage was built in the 14th century in a Romanesque style. In the following 16th cencury, two side chapels in Gothic style were added to the edifice, and then a Baroque presbytery in the 17th century. The hermitage was the seat of one of the oldest and still active Brotherhood of Nuestra Señora de la Huerta , founded in the 14th century.
