Founded in the 17th century , the building has undergone several renovations. It is a humble stone building with a gabled roof. Inside the church there is a wooden cross alleged to come from the Garden of Gethesemane.

Restore by the municipality in 2004, the hermitage has a covered porch at the entrance, upon which there isa belfry. The most interesting original ornamentation is the shield of the "Ruiz de Castellblanque", a former patron of the place, located in the front wall.
Mentioned in a 17th century document, this old building has been renovated in various parts of its structure over time. It is a modest building with with bells on its gable.
The earlest part of the church dates back to the end of the mid- 13th century in a typical mix of Gothic and Romanesque styles. After the earthquake of 1656, the chruch was greatly modified in the restoration. Now it is located on a steep slope overlooking the Ebrón river.
