Vistdal Church

Eresfjord Church

The Church of Sira, also known as the Eresfjord Church, is an octagonal church dating from 1869 and built of wood. Until about 1709, a stave church probably stood here, but because of its very poor condition, it was replaced by a new wooden church in the shape of a cross. Throughout the 19th century, this church was too small and in need of repair. In 1868-1869 the octagonal church was erected in its place.

Tingvoll Church

Tingvoll Church is a stone church in Romanesque and Gothic style that was built around 1200. The walls have an extensive system of corridors, possibly for liturgical use, which is unique to church buildings in the Nordic countries. An exterior balcony high up on the choir wall also makes the church special. The interior is rich. The pulpit is from the late Renaissance (around 1660) with figures from the Spanish Baroque.
