The former St. Joseph's Church in Vosselaar (Sint Jozefskerk) was built between 1966-77 in a post-war modernism style according to the designs of Flemish architect Marc Dessauvage. The church was withdrawn from worship in 2007 and repurposed as a public library.
The Beguinage of Turnhout has no precise date of foundation, but it was probably founded in the 13th century. The beguinage has a well-preserved baroque church, an infirmary and houses from the 16th and 17th centuries. It houses a museum on beguine culture.
Saint Catherine's Church was built between 1525 and 1550 by the Counts of Hoogstraten. With its 105 metres-high tower, Saint Catherine's Church is the third tallest church in Belgium, after the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp and the Church of Our Lady in Brugges.
The Abbey of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart or "Westmalle Abbey" is the oldest of the Trappist monasteries still in activity. It was founded in 1794 by French Cistercians fleeing the ban on monastic life in France. The priory was elevated to abbey status in the first half of the 19th century and began its brewing activities in 1836.
