Church of Saint John the Baptist, Heraklion

The Catholic church of Saint John the Baptist was founded in the 13th century, during the Venetian era. It functioned as a mosque under Ottoman rule. Part of the building was destroyed in the bombings of Heraklion during World War II. After the war, the church resumed its activity as a Catholic place of worship.
