Uilenburger Sjoel
The building was constructed on a rectangular plan between the Uilenburgerstraat and Uilenburgergracht in the shadow of a mill for the benefit of "Brouwerij Van der Waereld". For centuries it was only accessible via corridors (alleys to the buildings behind).
About this building
.The building was built behind the row of houses more on the water than on the street, as can be seen on the map by Gerrit de Broen from the end of the 18th century. The building survived a large-scale redevelopment in this Jewish quarter, which took place in the 1910s , 1920s and 1930s , during which the dilapidated district was renovated.
