Viðareiði Church
Found on the island of Viðoy, Viðareiði church is surrounded by excellent hiking trails and some of the most inspiring scenery in the entire Faroe Islands.

The village of Viðareiði is the northernmost settlement in the Faroe Islands and lies on the Island of Viðoy. Many believe, that the area contains one of the most spectacular hiking routes in the entire archipelagos. Viðareiði itself is an extremely ancient settlement. The exact date of its establishment is not known, but it is believed to be approximately around 1350 to 1400. The church, however, is newer, and was only established in 1892. Nearby, visitors can find the Old Rectory in Ónagerði, which common belief tells to be haunted.
