Fortified Church of Saint-Martin, Macquiny

Church belonging to the group of fortified churches of Thiérache. It is the oldest example of fortification using brick.

About this building

The dimension stone keep dates back to the 12th century and was rebuilt in 1501 as shown by the date written above the porch. It is puddled on either side of two brick bartizans with machicolations.
