Chapel of Notre-Dame du Château

This Chapel was built from 1478 onwards by Pierre de Bourbon, Count of Marche and Castres, in a single campaign, on a Languedoc plan. It was restored in 1882.

About this building

This Gothic church has an original architecture, the length of the rectangle formed by the vaults is perpendicular to the axis of the nave. Six chapels are placed between the buttresses. Classified in 1930, this monument shelters a 17th century wooden polychrome Virgin and Child. The whole is illuminated by vast coloured bays.

Church of Sainte-Croix

Building built in the 13th century by one of the Viscounts of Aubusson to house a fragment of the cross of Christ. In its present state, it is the result of a reconstruction in the 17th century, followed by rebuilding and enlargements in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Church of Saint-Avit

The Church of Saint-Avit is located in Saint-Avit-de-Tardes, in the region of New Aquitaine. It is bordered by the cemetery and the old 16th century Priory adjoining it. The church, a grand building that was built at the end of the 13th century, was fortified in the 16th century. It has a typical portal of the Creuse with its hollow tympanum. Inside, among the furniture, the front of the high altar is garnished with repousse leather from the 17th century.
