Gereformeerde Church
In 1932, the architect Albert Wiersema from Bedum was commissioned to build a new church for the Reformed congregation. From 1914 onwards the building has become too small for the rapidly growing municipality.
About this building
Wiersema designed a hall church in which the influence of the Amsterdam school style is clearly visible. The fan-shaped bank plan with wooden benches is a good example of this, as is the wood-paneled parabolic vault, the podium with the pulpit on it, and the stained-glass windows.
The interior is largely in original condition. The high tower with miter shaped crowning is also special. The building is available to the village for cultural, social and social activities. Occasionally, church services are held.
