Adorp Church
You'll end up in the baroque when you enter the 14th century church of Adorp, as a result of a renovation in the 17th century.
About this building
The original church, built in Artharpe, a wiering village, had a free-standing tower. The tower that served as a lookout post and veste for the residents of Adorp and Harssens until the 18th century, as it was demolished in 1794 and replaced by a roof turret.
The interior appeals to the imagination with the pulpit, communion table and choir fence all dating to pre-1667.
Nowadays the church is managed by a group of volunteers from the village. The Cultural Committee Adorp organizes, in addition to concerts, exhibitions of visual artists (from the region, among others).
